About Your Teachers ...

Kylie Strickland

Hi, I'm Kylie Strickland, I was born and raised in Brisbane and have been dancing since the age of 4. I was fortunate enough to live the glamorous Showgirl life, dancing on cruise ships for 12 years, travelling all over South East Asia, the Caribbean, Bahamas, Canada and the USA.  I even got to share the stage with Vanessa Amorossi and Bardot as a Back-up Dancer back in 2000.  I have been teaching and choreographing fun dance classes for over 15 years to all ages and abilities.

I have been trained in many styles including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, girly funk, musical theater, cabaret, salsa, bachata, merengue, cha-cha, foxtrot, waltz, Brazilian samba, rumba and swing. My parents and grandparents were Ballroom Dancers, so dancing has always been in my blood!  I believe great teachers never stop learning new skills, so I am currently attending several dance classes a week including a performance Jazz class and West Coast Swing.

After competing in Salsa for several years in Brisbane with the Latin Steps Divas, I moved to Canada in 2013 and joined a Samba Dance Company (Real Samba Divas). All across Toronto, I was performing at weddings on a weekly basis.  On my return to Brisbane, I wanted to make sure that today's generation can have a modern First Dance that doesn't look like what their parents did!

To date, I have worked with over 80 amazing couples, all unique in personality and in choice of song.   You don't need to have any dance experience in order to have a lovely first dance, so I offer short, affordable packages that will allow any couple to dance with confidence. I am excited to continue my passion with Brisbane couples, and look forward to creating something perfect for you!

Yolanda Campbell

Yolanda started dancing seven years ago whilst in Japan, discovering Salsa, Zouk and Samba. After moving to Australia she concentrated only on Samba, and won the Amateur Division at World Salsa Solo in 2014.  She has performed in Rio's Carnaval with Estacio De Sa, winning that year and moving up to a special group.

Yolanda runs annual tours to Japan for their Carnaval, where they take samba workshops, sight see and compete.  She organised Brisbane's first escola driven Rio style carnaval parade with 200 people! She teaches beginner and intermediate Samba for Paradizo and Mivida dance schools in Brisbane, and she performs professionally on a regular basis.

Yolanda has been instructing Beyonce Hens dance classes for Wedding Dance Diva since October 2018 and brings an awesome energy and an encouraging passion for dance whenever she teaches!
